SIXCAP attends Wall Street Journal D.LIVE Asia 2017

On 8 and 9 June, we attended the inaugural Wall Street Journal D.Live Asia Conference 2017 in Hong Kong, as a sponsor. The event saw many Asian and Western tech founders and luminaries gather to discuss the growing role Asia plays in the global technology landscape. With in-depth stage interviews, and panel discussions featuring speakers like Alain Crozier (Chairman and CEO, Greater China Region and Corporate Vice President, Microsoft), Qi Lu, (Vice Chairman, Group President and COO, Baidu) and Anthony Tan (Co-Founder and CEO, Grab), the invite-only conference was truly an eye-opener for us.

As part of the conference, we hosted a lunch dialogue on the future of currency. Among those present were Krishnan Thacker (Regional Director for MetLife Foundation, Asia), Tripp Welge (Chief Operating Officer of PhenixP2P Inc.), and Widjaja Sumarjadi (Vice President Director of PT Tripatra Engineers & Constructors).

The dialogue was kicked off by SIXCAP founder, Chairman and Chief Dealer Patrick Teng, who set the tone of the discussion with a summary on the current situation of the currency market, and talking points revolving around how technology has changed, and can continue to evolve with the rapid changes in the currency market.

With SIXCAP’s origins as a foreign exchange specialist training future generations of traders, the currency market has always been one of our biggest areas of interest. We are also big believers in harnessing technology for risk management and opportunity identification.

As a corporation who believes in disruptive technology and creating innovative solutions through financial technology (fintech), we focus on how technology can enable and regulate the transition to new trading platforms and models. We were pleased the participants enjoyed a thought-provoking and insightful discussion, and hoped our eminent guests took away just as much from the dialogue as we did.

Finally, we would like to extend our congratulations and appreciation to our partner, Wall Street Journal, for a memorable and successful conference!
